Here are your Weekend Market Picks for this extended Holiday Weekend:
Saturday Only, July 7, 2012
Chelsea Triangle French Market: This is the second weekend for this new Parisian-style food market on 9th Avenue, just next to the Apple store. Here’s my review and video! (Fridays & Saturdays, 10AM – 3PM, 9th Ave. between 14th & 15th Streets, Manhattan)
East 67th Street Flea Market: I haven’t featured this classic flea market in a while, and it’s high time I did. You can find unique flea market vendors, watch repair services, and also fresh local produce (Saturdays, 6AM – 5PM, In PS 183, East 66th and East 67th Streets between 1st and York Avenues, Manhattan)
Hester Street Fair + Hester Nights: Hester Street has so much going on right now! The Saturday flea, food and artisan market is in full seasonal swing, and they also host Hester Nights on Thursdays with an amazing array of local food purveyors. And they recently launched an outpost in Hollywood, CA with this Saturday’s Hollywood Indie Night Market! But then they’ve been stars in my book for a long time. (Saturday Market, 10AM – 6PM on the corner of Hester and Essex Streets, Manhattan)
Saturday & Sunday, July 7 & 8, 2012
Independent Designer Pop Shop: The ID Pop Shop extended for an additional week in the smaller event space inside Chelsea Market through Sunday only! They’ve added some new featured designers, so stop by to see these top-end design innovators. (10:30 AM – 7:30 PM, inside Chelsea Market, 75 9th Avenue, Manhattan)
Moore Street Market: This food market features foods and ingredients from Latin America and the Caribbean. Go there to find exotic fruits and vegetables and enjoy authentic Puerto Rican food. It is also a very important institution for the surrounding neighborhood. (Open 7 Days a week, Saturdays 8AM – 7PM, Sundays 10AM – 5PM, 110 Moore Street, Brooklyn)
Our Lady of Pompeii Artisan and Flea Market: Another of my favorite outdoor flea markets, this one alongside Our Lady of Pompeii Church on Bleecker Street is a fixture of the Village. Definitely take your time walking through to see what treasures you can find. (Bleecker Street between Carmine and Leroy, Manhattan)
Have a great weekend! As ever, let me know which markets you visited!
