Everyone is tired of winter already. Today, for example, has been cold, rainy, sunny and icy. I’m not normally one to complain about the weather — I’ve found complaining doesn’t do much good. But even I am dreaming of sweet summer peaches and juicy tomatoes.
So I just wanted to send a late winter love note to all the farmers in all the markets in New York City and beyond for being out there for us with your amazing foods under your freezing cold tents throughout the season.
You bring us fresh produce, dairy, meats, jams, honeys and so much more, all of which make the long winters so much more bearable and even, dare I say it, enjoyable for the rest of us.
So thank you all very much. I wish you a long, healthy growing season and lots of sunny days.
With love,
Karen
