In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s Strawberry Season!
We’re in the early part, which means the strawberries will be getting plumper and sweeter over the next few weeks. Today in the Union Square Greenmarket I saw a some nice, small, new ones that are great for baking, and were some larger ones in the mix as well.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of strawberry rhubarb pie and strawberry jam. (Look for my upcoming story about pie I made recently and a GIVEAWAY of a new pie cookbook!)
But there’s nothing in the world like popping a sweet, fat, sunwarmed strawberry in your mouth and getting juice all over your chin. Just look at any little kid in a berry picking patch. They know what I’m talking about.
