Street Food Showdown: Over 25 Street Vendors to Compete at 12th Annual Vendy Awards

OK, people. Are you ready to eat some street food? I am so excited about this year’s Vendy Awards, the Academy Awards for New York street food vendors.

Did you get your ticket? There are a few tickets left, but they won’t last long.

My best advice to you is to stop eating now so that you are as hungry as you can be by Saturday. And bring a large tupperware container because you will want to try everything. You will want to try everything, and it will be impossible to finish it all. So save your leftovers for next week’s lunches!

WHAT:            The 12th Annual Vendy Awards, NYC’s Premiere Street Food Competition

VISUALS:       More than 2,000 hungry New Yorkers sampling street food; dozens of food trucks lining the field at Governor’s Island; celebrity judges

WHO:              Over 25 food trucks nominated for a 2016 Vendy Award

Celebrity Judges: VICE’s MUNCHIES Editor-in-Chief Helen Hollyman, Meatball Shop Owner Daniel Holzman, New York Times Dining Reporter Julia Moskin, Hot Grease Host Nicole Taylor, Brooklyn Delhi Creator Chitra Agrawal

Special Vegan Judges: “By Chloe” Chef Chloe Coscarelli and Cinnamon Snail Chef and Owner Adam Sobel

WHEN:           Saturday, September 17th from 12:30-5pm

VIP & Press check in: 11:30

General Admission: 12:30

Judges Taste Food: 1-2:30

Awards Ceremony: 4pm

WHERE:         Governor’s Island

It is truly a wonderful event. It is a big deal to be nominated for a Vendy Award, and it’s a big deal when you win. So come show your support for these amazing food entrepreneurs and eat yourself silly!
