The Broadway French Market Opens For The Season

My friends at the Bensidoun Group opened their lovely French Market on Broadway this week. The Bensidoun family runs the gorgeous farmers markets throughout Paris, as well as the Chicago French Market and several farmers markets around Chicago and New York. Here is the full press release about this farmer, food and artisan market located just north of Macy’s and Herald Square.

Bensidoun Broadway French Market Opens

The Broadway French Market, one of New York City’s newest, French-style, open-air markets opened on Friday, May 2, 2014, with a great turnout and fabulous springtime weather.  After the long, cold winter, customers were thrilled to be outdoors.  The market will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, through November 26th, 2014.  The Broadway French Market will be operating in the Herald Square area, on the pedestrian plaza at Broadway between 35th and 36th Streets.

The market is operated by Bensidoun USA, a French company that pioneered the concept of open-air markets in the Chicago area, before expanding to New York.  What distinguishes these “French-style” markets from others is the diversity of the vendors.  They include a vibrant mix of fresh fruits and vegetables, organic produce, cured meats, cheese, bread, a variety of prepared ethnic foods, flowers/plants and craft items from around the world.

Combining the best qualities of the European-inspired marketplace, the Broadway French Market is committed to the current movement within the U.S. to support local farmers and artisans, bringing together a unique collection of local vendors comprised of family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs alike.

The Broadway French Market operates under an agreement with the 34th Street Partnership business improvement district.
