They Once Made Sweet Music

Flea Market Violin Bows

My grandfather was a talented violinist as a child. I was not. I learned to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in a variety of rhythms. That was the extent of my mastery.

However, this bag of violin bows at the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market was intriguing to me. I thought about all the music lessons they attended, after another week of neglected practice. I hope at least some of them enjoyed a beautiful evening or two making music at Carnegie Hall.
