UPDATE! This posting was originally published on July 24, 2011, the first day gay couples were legally allowed to marry in the State of New York. Today is Jun2e 26, 2015, and the Supreme Court has just paved the way for marriage equality nationwide! So I thought it was a good time to bring out these photos of gay couples on their wedding day, and here’s to many more happy marriages in this country! I realize this posting is a departure from the markets, but it’s something I feel strongly about. Today was the first day for gay couples to legally marry in New York State. We went to City Hall to see how things were going. I’m happy to report that there are hundreds of new, happily married couples today.
As a wise young friend of mine said to his dad, gay marriage is the civil rights battle of our generation. And so to me, today represents a legal and human victory. To show my support for marriage equality, I am posting some of the photos I took today of people I don’t know, but who graciously allowed me to share in their happy day.
