Snow Covered Apples in a Wintery Market

Snow Covered Apples in a Wintery Market

Hello!

So, I took a little time off during the cold, post-holiday season. But now it’s February, and the markets are heating up for 2017, despite the snow and icicles outside. There are so many fabulous Valentine’s Markets this weekend for everyone to enjoy, whether you have a Valentine or you need to mend your broken heart.

Weekend Market Picks

Saturday, February 11, 2017

Brooklyn Bazaar: You really can’t find a better place to hang out with friends than the Brooklyn Bazaar on Saturday night. There’s a cool market featuring locally made products, karaoke, live music, amazing local food purveyors, arcade games and more!  7PM – 11:30PM, 150 Greenpoint Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

Love Hurts, Valentine’s Day Pop Up: So maybe you don’t have a Valentine right now. That’s okay, and this market is for you. Nurse a mimosa like you nurse your broken heart, and shop for bondage-inspired jewelry, heart-shaped cactuses, vintage luxury, and more. 12PM – 6PM, Dusty Rose, 251 Greenpoint Avenue, Brooklyn

Saint Vitus Valentine’s Flea: Loads of handmade and vintage/antique things to sift through at this eclectic bar. They’re also offering glamor shots, massages, and drink specials! 1PM – 6PM, Saint Vitus Bar, 1120 Manhattan Avenue, Brooklyn

Til Death Do Us Part, A Valentine’s Oddities Market: This market is a few blocks from the Grove Street PATH station in Jersey City, but it looks really great. Take your sweetheart to see taxidermy artists, bone crafters (no idea), and other unusual handmade objects. If you miss the Morbid Anatomy Museum Flea Markets, this one could help with the longing. 12PM – 6PM, Cathedral Hall, 380 Montgomery Street, Jersey City, NJ

Vegan Valentine’s Day Shop-Up: Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy 7th Anniversary to the Vegan Shop-Up, New York’s premier vegan market. I have to give credit to this market for showcasing some of the best food in the city that happens to be vegan, and for providing a safe place for vegans and non-vegans to hang out, eat drink, be merry, and not worry about a thing! 11AM – 4PM, Pine Box Rock Shop, 12 Grattan Street, Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Saturday & Sunday, February 11 & 12, 2017

Artists & Eats: A Love Story: Williamsburg’s fabulous Artists & Fleas market is hosting a luscious food market, in addition to their ongoing talented vendors. Stop by for chocolates, sweets, “sexy beverages,” and more surprises. 10AM – 7PM, 70 North 7th, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

F*** Hallmark Greeting Card & Gift Festival: ArtHelix Gallery is hosting this Valentine’s Day art market to encourage us all to buy from local artisans and “collect real art.” I couldn’t agree more. 12PM – 6PM, ArtHelix Gallery, 289 Meserole Street, Brooklyn

Love Mart: Bringing the love, SHWICK is hosting a market that features emerging designers and artists, plus music and food. Celebrate Valentine’s Day and Fashion Week in Soho! 1PM – 10PM, 79 Green Street, Manhattan

Made In Queens Valentine Pop-Up: Come meet the makers from Queens! Shop for beautiful, locally handmade gifts – edible, wearable, and collectible. You can also take a workshop to learn how to make beautiful Valentine’s Day cards for your favorite people. 11AM – 8PM, 27-24 Queens Plaza South, Queens

Sunday, February 12, 2017

Essex Market Winter Daylife Food Market: The Lowline Lab hosts food and drink vendors from the venerable Essex Market. Enjoy cheeses from across the US, Mexican foods, French Bread, Italian snacks, Japanese treats and more. 11AM – 5PM, Lowline Lab, 140 Essex Street, Manhattan

Greenpointers Old-Timey Valentine’s Market: The Greenpointers market promises over 60 wonderful local artisans with art, jewelry, food, body products, and more, and also Prohibition Era cocktails and jazz music. What more could you need on a freezing Sunday afternoon? 1PM – 7PM, Greenpoint Loft, 67 West Street, Brooklyn

Mama’s Bazaar Valentine’s Market: Come to this market for sexy, erotic, fantasy gift items for your Valentine! Indulge in a little glitter painting, henna tattoos, massages, and more to get you in the mood for love. 11AM – 6PM, House of Yes, 2 Wyckoff Avenue, Brooklyn

Pre-Valentine’s Day Astoria Market: Looking for the perfect gift for your Valentine (yourself included)? Then head to Astoria to shop for locally handmade and vintage products. When you need a break from shopping, sit down in the restaurant for a beer and a hearty plate of Czech and Slovak fare. 12PM – 6PM, Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden, 29-19 24th Avenue, Astoria, Queens

Queens Kickshaw Valentine’s Pop-Up Market: Enjoy a cup of hot cider while you stroll through this market for handmade Valentine’s Day gifts, all under $35. Enjoy food products from local purveyors here too! 12PM – 5PM, 40-17 Broadway in fair Astoria.

Sweethearts Bazaar: Stroll hand-in-hand at the Grand Bazaar on Sunday, and shop for very special gifts, both handmade and vintage. If you don’t have a current Valentine, you can have your photo taken by a professional online dating photographer, Charlie Grosso of Tinder Photography.  10AM – 5:30PM, 100 West 77th Street at Columbus Avenue, Manhattan
