Weekend Market Picks April 1 & 2, 2017 – Hello Again!
Crowds of Daffodils at Union Square Greenmarket
Hi All! Happy Spring! The post-holiday, deep winter season is always quite slow for markets in the city, so I took some time off of the blog to focus on editing a several wonderful new books in the 111 Places That You Must Not Miss series! But mostly, I’ve been running. About 450 miles since September.
Sarah Coglianese and her daughter: #whatwouldyougive to end ALS?
James and I are running the Paris Marathon in April 9th primarily to raise funds to support the ALS Therapy Development Institute in the name of our lovely and talented fried Sarah Coglianese and her family who live with this disease. Of course, there is the promise of endless baguettes, a magnum of champaign at the end of le marathon, and a sweet medal too. Plus it’s Paris. In all honesty, raising funds for ALS is helping me get over the fact that nobody – nobody – challenged me to to dump a bucket of ice over my head. So I figured I’d show you all and run 26.2 miles instead.
All humor aside, though, please check out our fundraising page and contribute if you can. Every single dollar helps. And sharing the link with your family and friends helps just as much to get the word out. We’re over 50 % of our goal, and we would love to reach it and go beyond!
