It certainly feels like Spring is upon us! I’ve seen people wearing sandals in early March. I’ve seen crocuses poking out their brave little blooms. I haven’t worn a coat for the last two days. And here’s my biggest indicator that spring is here: the markets are opening!

SHWICK Spring Market: Almost 40 local makers of clothing, toys, jewelry, art, food and more! 11AM – 6PM, 2 Wyckoff Avenue, Brooklyn

Tribeca Greenmarket: This farmers market has a lovely group of local purveyors selling fresh produce, seafood, baked goods, proteins and dairy in a nice, neighborhood setting. 8AM – 3PM, Greenwich Street between Chambers and Duane, Manhattan

Artists & Fleas Chelsea Market: You really can’t imagine the amount of grooviness to be found in this large artisan and vintage market in Williamsburg — unless you visit it for yourself this weekend. 10AM – 9PM Mondays – Saturdays, 10AM – 9PM Sundays. 88 10th Avenue at W. 15th Street, Manhattan

Grand Opening! Bushwick Flea: Just steps from the L Train’ s Jefferson Street station, this neighborhood market features flea and vintage fashion and furniture, a well as local artisans and food entrepreneurs. 10AM – 6PM, 52 Wyckoff Avenue, Brooklyn

GreenFlea Market: The indoor flea, vintage and antique vendors are definitely here this weekend, and the outdoor market might be thawing out for the season too. 10AM – 5:30 PM, in the schoolyard at 100 West 77th Street and Columbus Avenue, Manhattan

West 79th Street Greenmarket: One of the most picturesque farmers markets in the city, this one sets up along side the Natural History Museum, kitty corner to the Greenflea. Textile recycling and compost collection till 1PM. 9AM – 4PM, Columbus Avenue btwn 78th & 81st Streets, Manhattan
