Weekend Market Picks May 9 & 10, 2015: All The Queens Beers At The LIC Flea

LIC Flea Beer Garden

The LIC Flea is home to one of the best hang-out spots in the city. In addition to hosting brilliant food vendors, craft artisans and vintage and flea vendors, the Flea now features a massive outdoor beer garden!

Grab your friends and your sunblock and go enjoy six major craft beers made in Queens: Queens Brewery, Rockaway Brewing Co., Single Cut Beersmiths, Finback, Bridge and Tunnel Brewery and Big Alice Brewing!

The LIC Flea is open every weekend 10AM – 6PM, 5-25 46th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens!

Weekend Market Picks:

Indicates that a market is particularly good for Mother’s Day Shopping!

Saturday, May 9, 2015

Brooklyn Bike Jumble: It’s a flea market for bikes and the people who love them! You will find new and used bikes, accessories, collectibles, artwork, and more bike-related treasures. 10AM – 4PM, Washington/JJ Byrne Park around the Old Stone House at 5th Avenue and 4th Street, Brooklyn

Spring Crafts in Chelsea: I get excited every time Crafts in Chelsea rolls around because it’s such a wonderful market. The handmade artisans are outstanding and inspiring, and vendor fees go to support school activities at PS 11. The school holds a bake sale to keep you fortified for all the shopping. 11AM – 4PM, West 21st Street between 8th & 9th Avenues, Manhattan

Greenpoint/McCarran Park Greenmarket: This beautiful market on the outer edge of McCarran Park brings 15+ local and regional farmers, bakers, fisherman and more to provide fresh weekly staples to the neighborhood. Textile recycling and compost collection too! 8AM – 3PM, Union Avenue between Driggs & N 12th Street, Brooklyn

Perry-Phernalia: (No website.) This market happens just once a year, and it’s awesome. A mix of stoop sale + true antiques + block party, the market on Perry Street in the Village is a chock-full of treasures. 10AM – 6PM,  Perry St. between Bleecker and West 4th Streets, Manhattan

Saturday & Sunday, May 9 & 10, 2015

Crafts on Columbus: This is the third and final weekend for this wonderful outdoor, high-end craft show for the year. Located alongside the Museum of Natural History, this market features fine handmade jewelry, fashion, accessories, toys, decor and more. 10AM – 6PM, Columbus Avenue from 77th to 81st Streets, Manhattan

Garment District Food Market: Opened this week, the Garment District food market is back for its second successful year. It features two city blocks lined with your favorite food vendors. This market runs through June 14! 11AM – 9PM, On Broadway between 39th and 41st Street, Manhattan

Hester Street Fair: I was out of town for Opening Day, so my apologies to the amazing people at the Hester Street Fair! Looks like it’s going to be another great year on the Lower East Side for food, fleas and handmade artisan products! 11AM – 6PM, Intersection of Hester & Essex Streets, Manhattan

ID Pop Shop: Don’t miss this last weekend of ID Pop’s May pop up shop inside Chelsea Market. This designer event features a fine collection of New York’s top independent designers of jewelry, fashion and home decor, as well as body products and handmade greeting cards. 10:30AM – 7:30PM, inside Chelsea Market, 75 9th Avenue, Manhattan

LIC Flea: See above!

Pop Up Flea: This event is designed to feel like a department store that is only open one weekend at a time. The focus of the vendors is on menswear and accessories, which I love. You will also find thinks like stationery, inking stamps and bicycles. The designers come NYC and beyond. 11AM – 7PM Saturday, 12PM – 6PM Sunday, 123 W 18th Street (Metropolitan Pavilion), 2nd Floor, Manhattan

Happy Mother’s Day! ♥ ♥ ♥
