Happy Easter! I hope you are planning to get out and enjoy springtime while it is with us. It looks like the weather is going to be great too!

So plan on spending time outside this weekend shopping and eating at these amazing spring markets:

Weekend Market Picks

Saturday, April 19, 2014

Union Square Greenmarket: Union Square is the largest farmers market in the city. It’s generally filed with shoppers, and it’s always wonderful to see it coming out of its deep freeze this time of year. Go shopping for your fresh eggs, pussywillows and daffodils for Easter! (And go early to beat the rush). 8AM – 6PM, North and West sides of Union Square Park, Manhattan  [Map]

Saturday & Sunday, April 19 & 20, 2014

Chelsea Market: If you love food to eat and to take home with you, take a slow stroll through Chelsea Market. On a crowded weekend like this one, if you see something you want to eat, stop and eat it! Plenty of sweets and savories for every palate. Make your way all the way to the 10th Avenue entrance and visit Artists & Flea’s Chelsea branch. 7AM – 9PM Monday – Saturday, 8AM – 8PM Sunday, 75 9th Avenue between 15th and 16 Streets, Manhattan [Map]

East Village Outdoor Market: This market launched last fall to raise funds for student programs. It is now under new management, and it has moved out onto the sidewalk of East 12th Street. It’s a great place to stop and shop as you stroll through this awesome neighborhood. 10AM – 6PM, East 12th Street between Avenue A and 1st Avenue, Manhattan [Map]

Gallery La La Artisan Market GLLAM:  If you’re visiting New York City, you are going to stop in Soho. And when you do, pop into this designer market for a curated collection of jewelry, accessories, works of art and more! There’s something new there every weekend. 12PM – PM, 138 Sullivan Street, Manhattan [Map]

Pompeii Artisan Market on Bleecker Street:  Newly opened for the season, this outdoor market is always a welcome addition to the weekends in the Village. Located on the sidewalk alongside Our Lady of Pompeii, it is filled with artisan and vintage sellers. 11AM – 6PM, Bleecker between Carmine & Leroy Streets, Manhattan [Map]

PS 321 Flea Market: Although this classic flea market has been around for decades in the heart of Park Slope, it’s time to stop passing it by and check out the new vibe. It is open for its second year under management by the Brooklyn Flea. So you know it has to be good! PS 321, 180 Seventh Avenue between 1st and 2nd Street, Brooklyn [Map]

The Market NYC: This market always has a great collection of New York designers and artists, and the current group is better than ever. I like about the space  on Bleecker Street because you always feel like there are more amazing little boutiques to discover around ever corner — and there are! Saturday 11AM – 9PM, Sunday 12PM – 8PM, 159 Bleecker Street Between Thompson and Sullivan Streets, Manhattan [Map]

Sunday, April 20, 2014

Greenflea:  With the improving temperatures, this classic flea market on the Upper West Side brings more vendors to the large outdoor school yard. It has a nice balance of flea market vendors, higher end antiques and handmade artisans. Check out the great neighborhood farmers market across Columbus Ave. next to the Natural History Museum too! 10AM – 6PM, Columbus Avenue between 76th and 77th Street West, Manhattan [Map]

Jackson Heights Greenmarket: If you live in Queens or want to visit this borough, start with the vibrant and colorful greenmarket. Every weekend, neighbors from all over the world converge to select local produce, dairy, poultry and baked goods for the week. Great people watching at this market!  8AM – 3PM, 34th Ave at 78th St, Queens [Map]

Opening Monday, April 21 – 27, 2014:

ID Pop Shop: ID Pop Shop is opening for a week in April with some of New York’s top designers of fashion, jewelry, accessories and decor. They will be open Monday through Sunday next week inside Chelsea Market. 75 9th Avenue between 15th and 16 Streets, Manhattan [Map]

Have a great weekend!
