Blaine models this modern holster from The Local Branch
Recently, one of my readers asked me about products for men in the markets. I’m the first to admit that there are many more wonderful designs for women than men out there. However, you can find some of the most beautifully made and wonderfully stylish handmade products for men too, starting with The Local Branch at Artists & Fleas in Chelsea Market this season.

Founders and partners Mackenzie Edgerton and Blaine Vossler have created a mobile clothing and home goods store out of a vintage Airstream trailer. They set up a home for the holidays inside Artists & Fleas, where you can find some of the coolest handcrafted products available. Blaine is modeling a leather holster (above) that holds your cellphone in one side, and your wallet in the other. It looks like a pair of suspenders from the back. I think it’s great as a dapper travel accessory too.
They have gaucho hats (think Clint Eastwood in The Outlaw Josie Wales), wool blankets, leather journals, and many more beautiful items. I’ve spent quite a bit of time visiting in their inviting shop, and I’ve discovered new treasures at every turn, like a soft canteen (great for smuggling a belt or two into the opera), versatile copper vessels, or small bundles of palo santo sticks to make your home smell good.
Mackenzie and Blaine are incredibly nice, and interesting to chat with, especially about their life as designers and entrepreneurs building a successful business while traveling around the country. Visit them through December 20th at Artists & Fleas in Chelsea Market, or shop online an any time.
