New York, New York (Nov 2014) – ID POP SHOP, New York City’s favorite independent retail pop up shop returns to Chelsea Market in December just in time for holiday shopping.

Shoppers will relish finding gifts that are truly original, thoughtful, and surprisingly perfect. Assembling 25 of the best New York design talent are designer-entrepreneurs Barbara Wilkinson (of Barbara Wilkinson Jewelry) and Raoul Calleja (of Vernakular Photo Designs). As usual, they have brought together an incredible group of independent designers and artists to ensure that ID Pop Shop is a destination for aficionados of the most distinct selection of memorable jewelry, apparel, accessories, and art.

Fashion enthusiasts will enjoy discovering original accessories by Hortensia Handmade, Elaine Arsenault and Vernakular Photo Designs; jewelry by Kimberlin Brown, Daniela Boari and Barbara Wilkinson Jewelry, and clothing by Mary Mendez, Danielle Gisiger, and JQ Loves U. Cutting edge sophisticates will love the eyewear by Antic Q Eyewear and natural beauty devotees will luxuriate with RICA bath & body.

The tourists and locals who frequent Chelsea Market every day will enjoy finding unique apparel and home design gifts from brands such as LinePosters and Urban Cricket. Cayla Ferari LinePosters, co-founder of LinePosters, enthuses about the joy of shopping at ID Pop Shop: “As a designer myself, ID Pop Shop is my favorite place to shop because I know I’ll always see something inspiring.”

In the last three and a half years, over 100 of the best local independent designers in the area have participated in more than 25 shows at the exclusive “invitation only” pop up shop for New York brands. Customers and designers alike confirm that ID Pop Shop fills a much-needed niche in the NYC retail environment. They not only provide an excellent platform for independent designers to showcase their designs, they also prove the viability of local and independent talent.

Regularly featured designer Kimberlin Brown of Kimberlin Brown Jewelry raves: “ID Pop Shop is a unique, truly New York, shopping experience. Barbara and Raoul brilliantly curate a selection of some of the best design talent this city has to offer; from limited edition screen prints, and one of a kind fine jewelry, to unparalleled apparel – ID Pop Shop offers unique holiday gift ideas.”

Parents, aunts and uncles will find the perfect playful children’s gifts by local talent such as Hanky Blanky and Kip Kids of New York.  Artist and author Kip Cosson is showcasing colorful, fun tees, dresses, rompers and bibs as well as launching a new children’s book “New York A to Z”: “Kip Kids of New York is excited to be back at ID Pop Shop this holiday season with our New York children’s books and fun kid’s clothing at this well-curated pop up event!”

The Independent Designer Pop Shop (ID Pop Shop), spearheaded by creative design entrepreneurs Barbara Wilkinson and Raoul Calleja is run with a clear mandate–to assemble New York City’s most exciting independent brands by designers who design and create their own products. The huge success of the first show in June 2011, paved the way for more than 25 events with over 100 local designers featured over 3 and a half years.
