Weekend Market Picks February 16 & 17, 2013 + KM Candles & Body
I understand that slate, steel, teal and cool beige are the colors of the day. Chic and sleek, no doubt, but forgive me if I err on the side of bright orange, purple and red in my personal preferences! This is why I find the beautifully colored and wonderful smelling candles from KM Candles and Body so refreshing and delightful. KM’s Kelly Marks sells her vegan soy candles each weekend at Artists & Fleas in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The scents she creates are as appealing as the colors. The purple is Lavender Vanilla Soy. The yellow is Lemon Chiffon. The teal is Basil and Herb. In her Brooklyn studio, Kelly hand pours the soy wax into Ball jars with pewter lids. The lids have a flower shaped cutout, and the candles subtly exude their scent even when not lit. Store your candles an armoir, and you will be met with a lovely whiff every time you open the closet doors. KM Candles burn for 100 hours.
