Mad. Sq. Eats Outdoor Food Market is open for the month of May

Mad. Sq. Eats outdoor food market is open for the month of May

For everyone who didn’t drown on Thursday, we all deserve a beautiful spring weekend! It looks like Saturday is going to deliver. Not sure about Sunday yet, but no matter because there are some great markets going on throughout the city!

Saturday, May 3

Harlem Seoul at El Boar-rio: This is the first food event by El Boar-rio since last season and since the Urban Garden Center re-opened after the horrible gas explosion in March, right across the street. Show your support and chow down on a fusion of Korean foods and the tastes of Harlem by the very awesome Chef Jon Han. Live music, local artisans and fun for the whole family. 12PM – 5PM, Urban Garden Center, 1640 Park Avenue, Manhattan [Map]

St. George Greenmarket: Staten Island’s first of two Greenmarket opens for the season today! It’s set on a hill with views of the New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline. I’m sure the neighborhood is thrilled to have their farmers back for the year.  8AM – 2PM St Marks & Hyatt Streets, Staten Island [Map]

Saturday & Sunday May 3 & 4, 2014

Brooklyn Flea: The Flea is back outside for the season on both Saturday and Sunday now. Sunday is Opening Day at the new location in Williamsburg. Go check it out – you can even take the East River Ferry! 10AM – 5PM; Saturdays at 176 Lafayette Avenue [Map], Sundays at 5o Kent Avenue [Map], Brooklyn

Crafts on Columbus: If you haven’t been to Crafts on Columbus, go now, as this may be the final one. I have loved this event for many years for the high quality of vendors and for the beautiful venue on the Upper West Side. It provides income for dozens of artisan businesses and their employees, and it is an amazing place to pick up brilliant gifts for Mother’s Day. Please sign the petition to bring this event back in the fall! 10AM – 6PM, Columbus Avenue between 77th and 81st, next to the American Museum of Natural History, Manhattan (Map)

Hester Street Fair: They’re back! This awesome LES market is back for the season with a great collection of artisans, food and vintage vendors. It’s a great place to just hang out at a picnic table with friends too. 11AM – 6PM, Corner of Hester and Essex Streets, Manhattan [Map]

Mad. Sq. Eats: This month-long food market open this weekend with over 20 food vendors to appeal to every palate. Open 7 days a week, this outdoor food emporium is the perfect place to go for lunch or for a nosh and a beer after work with friends. 11AM – 9PM, General Worth Square at 5th Avenue and Broadway, Manhattan [Map]

Sunday, May 4, 2014

Astoria Flea: GRAND OPENING! This new flea market will be open for 8 consecutive Sundays at the Kaufman Studios in Astoria. Opens at 10AM, Kaufman Astoria Studios 3412 36th Street, Astoria, Queens [Map]

BUST Craftacular’s Primped: BUST Magazine is sponsoring a brand new shopping event for clothes, accessories and beauty products – handmade and vintage! Visit over 85 vendors and enjoy free salon treatments. 11AM – 6PM, 165 Banker Street, Brooklyn [Map]

Stuyvesant Town Greenmarket: Another major farmers market is opening for the season on Sunday! This one serves the Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village communities, bringing a wonderful range of farmers, bakers, fishmongers and more to the neighborhood. 9:30AM – 4PM, South end of Stuyvesant Town Oval, Manhattan [Map]

Sugar Hill Market: Launched in March, this Harlem market is back this month at Harlem Garage, with 20+ vendors, selling handmade artisan goods and food products. The fashion designers look pretty amazing. 10AM – 6PM, 318 W 118th Street, Manhattan [Map]

Also, ID Pop Shop is back for a week this month, starting Monday May 5! Stop by this amazing designer event inside Chelsea Market through Sunday, May 11.

Eat, Play & Shop this weekend in the Markets of NYC!
