West 42nd Street Greenmarket Opens Today

It is high season in the farmers markets, and GrowNYC is opening up new and existing seasonal markets. I am very excited about the market opening today on the West Side in a neighborhood that has been underserved for fresh farm produce. Stop by today or in the coming weeks to meet the farmers, bakers and neighbors!

A Discerning Greenmarket Customer

New York, NY—New York’s newest Greenmarket arrives July 10 in the Hudson Yards neighborhood of Midtown West. Greenmarket’s mission is to promote regional agriculture by providing small family farms the opportunity to sell their locally grown products directly to consumers, and to ensure that all New Yorkers have access to the freshest, most nutritious locally grown food the region has to offer. With eight local farms and producers scheduled to attend, the market will offer a wide range of local farm products. Throughout the season, the market will offer free cooking demonstrations, raffles, and the opportunity to mingle with neighbors as well as the farmers who grow your food.
