The Bleecker Street Flea and Artisan Market is one of many markets now open for the 2014 Outdoor Season

The Spring Outdoor Market Season is upon us! So without further ado, here are the Weekend Market Picks:

Saturday, April 5, 2014

Brooklyn Flea Outdoor Season: OPENING WEEKEND! The Brooklyn Flea had a cozy winter season indoors, and now its time to bust out into the sunshine for the 2014 Outdoor Season! It is open Saturdays only in Fort Greene until May 4, when the Sunday market opens. 10AM – 5PM, 176 Lafayette Avenue, Fort Greene, Brooklyn

Harlem Eats Food Truck Rally: Rescheduled from last week the rally is your chance to sample some of the best food trucks in the city! This is a preview of Harlem Eats weekly food events starting in May.  11AM-6PM, Frederick Douglass Blvd between 117 & 118 Streets, Manhattan

Saturday & Sunday, April 5 & 6, 2014

Artists & Fleas: OPENING WEEKEND IN MANHATTAN! The big news from Artists & Fleas is that they now have two permanent locations: the original one in Williamsburg and the newly launched venue in Chelsea Market. They have had pop up markets in the Chelsea, but now it will be open 7 days a week for the foreseeable future. And they’re launching their West Coast endeavor in LA in May! In Williamsburg: 10AM-7PM, 70 North 7th Street between Kent & Wythe Avenues. In Manhattan: 10AM-9PM Monday – Saturday, 10AM-8PM on Sunday, Chelsea Market, 75 9th Avenue

Bleecker Street Market: NEWLY OPENED! This lovely handmade and vintage market has opened for the season too! It sets up on historic Bleecker Street alongside Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Continue going west on Bleecker for some of my favorite food shops. 11AM – 6PM, Bleecker between Carmine & Leroy, Manhattan

LIC Flea & Food: OPENING WEEKEND! This dynamic artisan, food and vintage market is back for its second season. It is a major attraction in Long Island City, and you can spend the day shopping and noshing in the market. You should also explore the neighborhood and try some of the outstanding restaurants nearby, several of which set up tents in the market! 10AM – 6PM, 5-25 46th Avenue, Long Island City, Queens

Park Slope Flea at PS 321: OPENING WEEKEND! This long-established, classic flea in the schoolyard at PS 321 is now a part of the Brooklyn Flea family. Many of the original vendors are still there, alongside some great Flea vendors. Check out the new energy and great shopping! 10AM – 5PM, 180 Seventh Avenue between 1st and 2nd Streets, Brooklyn

Smorgasburg Outdoor Season: OPENING WEEKEND! After sharing the indoor market season with the Brooklyn Flea, this incredible food event is back outside starting this weekend, with all our favorites and some exciting new food vendors! 11AM – 6PM, Saturdays: East River State Park (where Kent Avenue meets N. 7th Street); Sundays, Brooklyn Bridge Park (Pier 5), Brooklyn

SPECIAL SALE EVENT: Our friends at Bowery Kitchen Supplies are having a big china and glassware closeout sale in Chelsea Market, in the small event space across from Posman Books. 10AM – 7PM, 88 10th Avenue, Manhattan

Sunday, April 6, 2014

Forest Hills Greenmarket: This farmers market is an important part of the Forest Hills neighborhood. In addition to locally and regionally grown foods, there are cooking demonstrations, recipe exchanges and compost collection (10AM – 12PM). 8AM – 3PM, South side of Queens Blvd. at 70th Avenue, Queens
